Gunasekaran Venkatachalam, born on March 15, 1965, in Chidambaram, Cuddalore district, is the third son of Mr. Venkatachalam and Mrs. Selvanayagi Venkatachalam. His father, a village president for over 28 years, inspired his deep commitment to community development. Gunasekaran graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Jamal Mohamed College, Trichy, under Bharathidasan University (1982-1985), and later completed an M.A. in Economics from Annamalai University, Chidambaram. With special permission from the Army headquarters in Delhi, he pursued higher studies while also serving our country during the Kargil War, contributing significantly in Sikkim and the Eastern regions.
Gunasekaran began his career by founding VGS Management Facilities Private Limited, a company dedicated to providing skilled and experienced talent across various industries, including hospitality, IT, automobile, telecommunications, and infrastructure. Notable clients include Caterpillar, Nokia, Dell, Flextronics, and several government organizations such as the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and the Petroleum Conservation Research Association (PCRA).
An active member of several prestigious organizations, Gunasekaran is involved with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), The Rise Global, and serves as the chapter President of CTACIS. He has also held the position of Ex-president of the Lions Club, promoting civic and cultural welfare. As chairman of the Senior Student Educational Trust in Chidambaram, he works tirelessly to support student development in the region.
Currently, Gunasekaran leads Aruni Healthy Foods, a company committed to providing pure organic food products with the motto “Healthy foods lead to a Healthy Generation.” A passionate book lover and follower of notable figures like A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Kamarajar, and Periyar E. V. Ramasamy, Gunasekaran’s life mantra is “The knowledge we gain must be shared with everyone.” Beyond his business endeavors, He is deeply committed to agriculture and passionate about promoting nature and organic farming.
